Constance Wu and Henry Golding are set to reprise their roles in a new TV adaptation of the hit film Crazy Rich Asians. The series will continue the story from the 2018 film, which was directed by Jon M. Chu and became a cultural phenomenon.

Series Details

The show will feature Wu as Rachel and Golding as Nick, alongside Ronny Chieng returning as Eddie. Michelle Yeoh, an Oscar winner, will have a recurring role as Nick's mother, Eleanor.

Adele Lim, who co-wrote the original film, expressed excitement about the reunion, stating, "It's a 'Crazy Rich' family reunion!" She described the series as the sequel fans have been waiting for, promising to delve deeper into the characters and worlds created in Kevin Kwan's bestselling books.

Production and Background

The series will consist of eight episodes and is being produced by HBO. The announcement comes shortly after Warner Bros revealed its £110 billion merger with Paramount Skydance. The original film, adapted from Kwan's novels written between 2013 and 2017, topped the US box office and received two Golden Globe nominations.
