JSW Steel reported a 5% increase in its consolidated crude steel production, reaching 7.27 million tonnes (MT) in the second quarter of the current financial year. This marks an increase from 6.95 MT in the same period last year.
Indian Operations Performance
The company's production from its Indian operations also rose by 5% year-on-year, totaling 7.07 million tonnes during the second quarter. According to a regulatory filing to the BSE, the capacity utilization of its Indian operations was 88% during the July-September quarter of FY27. This figure improved to approximately 90% in September 2026, as Blast Furnace 3 at the Vijayanagar plant gradually ramped up production following a shutdown for capacity upgrades.
