Protests were held across the US on October 8, calling for an end to sexual violence, following allegations of sexual assault involving members of a fraternity at Cornell University. Survivors, students, and advocates rallied and protested in communities and on college campuses across more than 40 states.
Background
This movement comes after a lawsuit was filed by Jane Doe, who alleges she was given drugs and alcohol before being sexually assaulted by several members of Cornell's Chi Phi fraternity while incapacitated in October 2024. She has accused Cornell University of failing to adequately investigate and discipline those involved.
