A former professor at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, is facing felony charges for allegedly spilling his urine on a student’s backpack, causing over $2,000 in damages. Paul Fischer, 55, is at the center of a peculiar workplace misconduct case that has linked him to at least six incidents involving urine at the college over the past year.

Incident Overview

The investigation began after a student reported that she left her belongings unattended for about six minutes on December 5 in a common area near Fischer's office. Upon returning, she discovered urine on her backpack. The student reported the incident to the St. Paul police in February.

Investigation Findings

Following the report, police learned that the college had already investigated her complaint and found multiple instances of urination in various locations within the Olin-Rice science center. These included:

  • Urine found in trash cans
  • Urine in individuals’ water bottles
  • Urine inside professors’ decorations

Investigators determined that Fischer was responsible for these incidents. He resigned from Macalester College after spending 25 years there.
