Overview

Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party, has stated that charities assisting asylum seekers in reaching the UK should face potential criminal prosecution. In an interview with rightwing US podcaster Benny Johnson, Farage expressed his views on the issue of small boat arrivals of asylum seekers, labeling it as "literally an invasion of people who could cause us enormous harm."

Criticism of Charities

While Farage did not specify which organizations should be targeted, he and other senior figures within the Reform party have been vocal critics of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The RNLI has faced intimidation campaigns for its role in rescuing asylum seekers in the English Channel. Farage remarked:

“

"The role of the NGOs, the role of those that are sponsored by taxpayers’ money, because they’re nice, they’re good, they’re kind. They have actually aided and abetted criminality in absolutely every way."

He further described individuals involved in these efforts as "deluded, hard-left socialist Marxists" intent on undermining national identity and borders.
