Senator Chris Murphy Raises Concerns Over Pentagon's Transparency
Chris Murphy, a Democratic senator from Connecticut, has expressed serious concerns regarding the Pentagon's transparency about the costs and consequences of the ongoing war in Iran. After a recent trip to Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Murphy stated that the Pentagon blocked him from accessing a major US military base in Qatar, which he believes is part of an effort to keep Congress uninformed.
Damage Assessment at US Embassy in Riyadh
During his visit, Murphy witnessed significant damage at the US embassy in Riyadh, describing it as "extraordinary" and far worse than what the public has been led to believe. He noted:
“"Had that attack happened during the daytime, there’s no doubt that there would have been many, many Americans killed."
The damage occurred during a drone strike on March 3, just days after the US and Israel initiated military actions on February 28. Although the Saudi defense ministry initially reported minor damage, Murphy asserted that the drones caused extensive destruction across several floors of the embassy, rendering parts of it uninhabitable.
