Manhunt under way to find prisoner who absconded from medical facility

A manhunt is currently underway to locate Anthony Lloyd, a 38-year-old prisoner who has absconded from a medical facility in Lewisham, south-east London. The Metropolitan Police have stated that Lloyd poses a risk both to himself and the public.

Incident Details

Lloyd forced his way out of the health unit shortly after 4 PM on Friday. The police have urged the public not to approach him but to contact 999 if he is spotted. According to police statements, Lloyd was last seen heading towards Catford.

Background

Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm related to an incident involving three emergency services workers in Nottinghamshire. He received a 12-month custodial sentence and was transferred to the medical facility in Lewisham in September.
