Instacart, the grocery delivery company, is reportedly considering a sale to a larger competitor. According to multiple news reports, The Information revealed on Friday that Instacart has engaged an investment bank to evaluate its options and has held acquisition discussions with DoorDash. Additionally, Bloomberg reported that Instacart has also spoken with Uber, although Uber has since walked away from those talks.
Current Market Position
Instacart currently boasts a market capitalization of over $13 billion, with its stock price rising 25% year-to-date. This surge in value may prompt the company to consider selling at a favorable price before the grocery delivery market becomes increasingly competitive.
