A lightsaber used by Darth Vader during the iconic duel where he reveals to Luke Skywalker that he is his father is set to go up for auction at Heritage Auctions next month. This saber, which also appeared in Return of the Jedi, is expected to fetch at least $1 million.

Auction Details

The Vader lightsaber is part of a collection of over two dozen props that will be available for bidding. This auction features items from Star Wars Episodes I through IX as well as other films and TV shows from the universe created by George Lucas.

Notable Props

Among the other items included in the auction are:

  • Dueling lightsabers used by Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith, each expected to sell for at least $10,000.
  • A lightsaber with Luke Skywalker’s severed hand from The Empire Strikes Back, which sold for $3.75 million in July, marking the highest price ever fetched for a Star Wars prop.
  • An EE-3 carbine blaster used by Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back, estimated to bring in over $100,000.
  • A Yoda puppet hand used by Frank Oz in the character’s original appearance in The Empire Strikes Back.
  • A signed, personal third-draft screenplay for the original 1977 Star Wars by C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels.
  • A TIE Fighter pilot helmet from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
