Estonian aerial athlete Jaan Roose is set to attempt a daring slackline walk on Thursday, crossing a 160-metre long highline suspended 120 metres above central Seoul. The event will take place near the iconic Gwanghwamun Palace and square, between the Koreana Hotel and the Dong-A Media Center.
A Champion's Feat
Roose, a three-time slackline world champion, has gained recognition for his impressive slacklining feats in dramatic urban settings. Notably, he completed a 185-metre high walk between Qatar’s Iconic Towers and became the first person to slackline across the Strait of Messina in 2024, traversing 3.6km despite a fall near the end, which was mitigated by his safety harness. Earlier this month, he also covered 14.7km in 12 hours on a line above the Danube in Bratislava, Slovakia.
