Incident Details
According to the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, the man fell to his death in an area known as Leetham’s Hollow, which has been described by NBC News as having "walls and cliffs not unlike the Grand Canyon’s." Search-and-rescue teams were deployed to the scene, where they declared him dead upon arrival.
Doyle Peck, a chief deputy with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, stated:
“"On today’s jump, something went wrong, and he did not have enough lift with his wingsuit. He impacted the ground at a high rate of speed resulting in his death."
