A Historic Opening

One hundred years ago, the Guardian reported on the grand opening of the mosque, describing it as "a thing of beauty" amidst its suburban surroundings. The ceremony was attended by approximately 600 eminent guests, who witnessed the large black doors being opened with a silver key.

Community Engagement

Ahead of the centenary celebrations, local MP Fleur Anderson visited the mosque, highlighting its popularity in the community. "No street party is complete without the wonderful food provided by this mosque," she remarked. Mahmood Rafiq of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK emphasized the mosque's commitment to community service, stating:

“

"Being part of the wider community is a key part of the mosque’s ethos."

The mosque has been involved in various community activities, including distributing sweets to children during Eid, extending Christmas greetings to neighbors, and maintaining local environmental efforts.
