Meta has unveiled Muse Gadgets, an open-source project that allows developers to create their own hardware that connects to its popular personal AI agent, Muse. This initiative was announced on Friday and aims to attract tinkerers and hackers interested in building custom devices.
Open-Source Opportunities
Meta is providing open-source firmware and a Linux software development kit (SDK) to facilitate the development process. Some initial project ideas include:
- Integrating Muse with a color e-ink display.
- Loading Muse onto a stick that connects to a TV’s HDMI port.
Developers can use low-cost hobbyist computers like a Raspberry Pi or an off-the-shelf ESP32 board to connect Muse to various hardware components, including displays, buttons, sensors, and actuators.
