The Mississippi attorney general, Lynn Fitch, announced on Monday that the police shooting of Kohen Wiley, a one-year-old baby, was deemed "justified." Following this announcement, footage of the incident has been made public, first reported by Darkhorse Press, a local outlet.
Press Conference Held
On Thursday, attorneys Ben Crump and Van Turner, representing the Wiley family, held a press conference at the Senatobia Church of Christ in Senatobia, Mississippi. This event occurred shortly after family members viewed the footage of the shooting.
Veronica Roberson, Kohen’s maternal grandmother, expressed her anguish, stating,
“"The word ‘justified’ has haunted me since Monday."
She fought back tears as she recounted how she learned about the shooting through news sources rather than being contacted by authorities.
“"A single call, a heads up, anything to prepare us for what we was about to face," Roberson added.
