The family of Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, a man who tragically died after being ejected from the Goliath rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, is questioning whether his death could have been prevented. The incident occurred during a family trip to celebrate his niece's birthday, where he was riding the rollercoaster alongside her when he reportedly passed out and fell from the ride.
Incident Details
According to a relative speaking to WSB-TV, Kariem's niece witnessed the horrifying event. Joshua Nelson, Kariem’s brother-in-law, shared his niece's account of the moments leading up to the tragedy.
“"She said he fainted, or passed – her words were ‘he passed out,’" Nelson recounted. "And then they went up and down, up and down, up and down – and she said it went up again and his latch, I guess, snapped or came loose and he fell."
