US actress Selma Blair has spoken out after being accused of assaulting multiple people on a flight to New York. A publicist for the Legally Blonde star stated that she "did not intend to harm anyone" and emphasized that there was "much more to this story."
Medical Emergency on Flight
Blair reportedly "experienced a medical emergency on the flight" and is still battling multiple sclerosis (MS). Her publicist explained that the 54-year-old has a neurological disorder that significantly influences how a medical episode might appear to those unfamiliar with her condition.
Blair has pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting an officer and a nurse after being removed from the flight. She is also accused of assaulting two flight attendants on board.
Response to Allegations
Blair's team contended that the public narrative surrounding the incident on a Delta Airlines flight to New York has been "built almost entirely on a police statement and a decade-old headline." They denied media reports claiming she attempted to open the aircraft door.
The publicist highlighted Blair's ongoing struggle with MS, a chronic illness she publicly revealed in 2018. Although she announced in 2021 that she was in remission, the statement noted that the Hellboy and Cruel Intentions star "still has bad days." Additionally, she suffers from pseudobulbar affect (PBA), a disorder characterized by uncontrollable emotional expressions that may not align with a person's actual feelings.
