John Davidson, the Tourette syndrome campaigner, will attend the Bafta Scotland awards in November but will watch the ceremony from a separate "relaxed" space. This decision follows an independent review into the handling of the British Academy film awards in February, where Davidson's involuntary tics caused a crisis for Bafta and the BBC.

Background

In a letter sent to Bafta members on Thursday, the organisation’s chair Sara Putt and CEO Jane Millichip announced that they had "strengthened and centralised our safeguarding, risk assessment and compliance processes". They made arrangements for Davidson's attendance in consultation with safeguarding and inclusion experts.

Ceremony Details

For the Bafta Scotland awards, Davidson will watch the ceremony via video link from a separate relaxed space within the venue, accompanied by his family and friends.
