The search for the next James Bond may finally be nearing its end, as a select group of actors is set to screen-test for the iconic role this weekend in London. According to reports from Hollywood Reporter and Variety, actors including Callum Turner and Jack Lowden are among those who will audition to become the next British agent 007.

Screen-Test Details

The screen tests are expected to include three key elements:

  • Stunts
  • Camera presence
  • Dialogue

Reports indicate that between three and five actors are finalists for the role, which was vacated by Daniel Craig after his final appearance in 2021’s No Time to Die. Notably, Jack O’Connell and Jacob Elordi will not be testing, despite earlier speculation.

Direction and Production

The next installment of the Bond franchise will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, known for his work on the Dune series. The film is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, which acquired the series rights as part of an $8.45 billion deal in 2022. The script will be penned by Steven Knight, a writer from Peaky Blinders.
