Daily coal supplies to the power sector have surged by approximately 36% from the low recorded in September, according to the Coal Ministry. The ministry noted that the rate of stock depletion has significantly moderated, and the rake position has strengthened.
Stock Depletion and Rail Loading
"Stock depletion has slowed sharply, with the daily drawdown falling by more than half from 0.243 MT per day in September to 0.116 MT per day in October," the ministry stated. This indicates a stabilizing position, although stock rebuilding has yet to commence.
Rail loading has also improved, averaging over 465 rakes per day in October, with the 470-rake target achieved on three consecutive days.
