Atlassian has secured a 10-year solar energy deal with the Goulburn Community Energy Co-operative to power its new headquarters in Sydney. This agreement, announced on Friday, will fund nearly 70% of the solar farm's output over the next decade.
Project Details
The solar farm, located in NSW’s Southern Tablelands, will generate electricity to meet the renewable energy needs of Atlassian's 39-storey building, which is currently under construction near Central Station and is expected to open in 2028. The project features:
- 2,300 solar panels
- A four megawatt-hour battery
- Coverage of 2.2 hectares of industrial land
Community Involvement
The solar farm is owned by approximately 288 local investors, each contributing a minimum of $400. It was connected to the electricity grid in March 2026, 12 years after its initial proposal. The agreement follows a $2.3 million grant from the NSW government and aims to support local workers and suppliers.
