President Donald Trump's initiative to rename AI to super intelligence—or SI—has led to an unprecedented surge in domain name registrations in Slovenia, according to the country's official national registry.

Surge in Registrations

In September, 44,000 web addresses with the .si suffix were registered, a dramatic increase from fewer than 2,000 in August, marking a rise of over 2,100%. Klara Herman, a spokesperson for Register.si, described the scale of activity in late September as "unprecedented" compared to the previous year.

Trump's Proposal

President Trump proposed the name change during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 11. He stated:

“

"The use of the word artificial makes it sound fake. It's not fake, it's actually amazing. But we have to be careful... welcome to the new world of super intelligence."
