At least 27 people have been killed in two separate mass shootings near South Africa’s largest cities, according to police reports.
Details of the Incidents
On Saturday night, 17 people were shot dead at a bar in Wedela township, located southwest of Johannesburg. The attack involved eight suspects armed with AK-47 rifles and pistols, who opened fire on patrons. Additionally, at least 15 others sustained gunshot injuries during this incident.
In a separate incident, a mass shooting occurred at a store in Lwandle, near Cape Town, around 1 AM on Sunday, resulting in 10 fatalities. Police reported that another 11 individuals were wounded in this attack.
