Donald Trump allegedly ordered the FBI to investigate protesters in Los Angeles who were demonstrating against his immigration policies. This claim comes from a whistleblower complaint submitted to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Senator Alex Padilla, a Democrat representing California and a member of the committee, confirmed that his office received a copy of the complaint. He stated,

“

"These allegations are deeply alarming. Using the FBI to target Americans for exercising their first amendment rights directly undermines our nation’s foundational values. I won’t rest until we get answers."

The complaint was first reported by NBC, which identified the whistleblower as Jill Fields, a former supervisory intelligence analyst in the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office. Fields filed the complaint following the federal response to anti-ICE demonstrations that occurred around the city’s federal buildings and in residential areas early last year. She resigned from the bureau later that year.
