President Donald Trump has announced that the US government will provide a one-time $90 payment to over 20 million Americans enrolled in Medicare, the health insurance program for seniors. This initiative aims to help offset the cost of their monthly medical insurance premiums.

The announcement was made via social media late on Friday, with Trump stating that the payments will be sourced from the Medicare Improvement Fund, which received $2 billion from Congress to enhance the Medicare fee-for-service program. The White House confirmed that most eligible seniors will receive the payment as a direct deposit in early October. Those without direct deposit will receive a check sent to their registered mailing address with Medicare.
