Open social network Bluesky is expanding beyond its flagship app with the launch of a new tool that enables creators to build websites, quizzes, games, polls, and other interactive experiences. This announcement was made at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on Thursday.
New Features of Attie
The new tool is an extension of Attie, Bluesky’s experimental platform that initially provided AI-powered technology for creating custom social feeds. The goal is to empower everyday users to create experiences that were previously limited to software developers.
These user-generated games and sites will operate on the same AT Protocol (ATProto) that powers Bluesky and other decentralized social applications, collectively known as the Atmosphere.
During an interview at Disrupt, Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider shared insights about Attie’s new capabilities, stating:
“"We’re adding a feature to our Attie product that allows you to build sites and social experiences again for a group of people. So think of it as … social vibe coding or vibe coding for your community."
Leadership Changes
Schneider, who has previously served as the CEO of Automattic and a partner at True Ventures, is now leading Bluesky as it transitions into the AI era. He took over after former CEO Jay Graber stepped down in March to become the chief innovation officer.
