Cerebras Systems CEO and co-founder Andrew Feldman believes that the prevailing narrative surrounding AI doomsday warnings is detrimental to the industry. Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Feldman remarked that "some of the leaders in the AI world maybe shouldn’t be allowed to talk in public," highlighting the growing concerns about AI risks, including models breaking containment and debates among AI insiders about the potential for AI to threaten humanity.
The Mainstream Narrative
The discourse around AI dangers has become so prevalent that Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei was recently parodied on Saturday Night Live, where a fictional character encapsulated the sentiment by stating, "We do not condone what we are doing." Despite these fears, Feldman argues that the positive potential of AI advancements is being overshadowed. He emphasized the need for AI leaders to communicate the benefits of AI, such as the possibility of a future where diseases like cancer are eradicated.
