Jurors in the trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former NSW police officer, have been shown CCTV footage tracking his movements across Sydney following the alleged murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies on February 19, 2024.
Overview of the Case
The 31-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the murders, claiming that the victims were killed in two separate violent struggles. The prosecution asserts that Lamarre-Condon murdered Baird, 26, and Davies, 29, and has presented evidence to support this claim.
Key Evidence Presented
On Tuesday, the jury viewed CCTV footage showing Lamarre-Condon arriving at an Avis car rental depot around 9 PM on the night of the alleged murders, approximately 12 hours after the incidents. Prosecutor Brett Hatfield SC noted that a receipt from Lamarre-Condon’s Uber account indicated he hired a rideshare from Kensington, where he left his personal vehicle, to the rental depot.
Lamarre-Condon was seen driving away from the depot in a Toyota HiAce van, which was later found to have significant blood staining, according to forensic officers. GPS data revealed that the van was parked near the rear roller door of Baird’s house in Paddington around 11 PM, leaving the location 22 minutes later.
