At a recent Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) event, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the anti-vaccine Health Secretary, engaged in a discussion about artificial intelligence (AI) with Vice President JD Vance. The event, held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, DC, took an unexpected turn as Kennedy shifted the focus from healthy lifestyles to the potential of AI.

AI and Medical Tyranny

Kennedy asserted that the Trump administration is facilitating AI access for all Americans, claiming it could free individuals from the "medical tyranny" imposed by doctors and health experts. He encouraged attendees to use AI for second opinions on medical advice, stating that AI is "better informed than any doctor in the country."

“

"We’re never, ever again going to be able to be dominated by public officials who tell us to trust the experts, because every American will be able to check their own medical advice," Kennedy declared.

Contradicting Health Experts

Kennedy, who lacks formal medical or public health credentials, provided examples where he believed AI would contradict established health guidelines. He suggested that:

  • AI might dispute claims about the effectiveness of masks.
  • AI could challenge the validity of social distancing measures.
  • AI may refute the assertion that vaccines prevent transmission and infection.
