Former President Donald Trump has sought to leverage the recent unrest in France, claiming that it reflects the desires of the radical left in the United States. Speaking to a crowd in Kansas on Monday, Trump attributed the chaos to "migrants" and "communists," stating that it is indicative of what the radical "Dumocrats" want for America.
Conservative Media's Response
As the Republican party faces challenges ahead of the November midterm elections, Trump's allies in conservative media have echoed his sentiments, aiming to galvanize voters by drawing parallels between the protests in France and potential unrest in the U.S.
Sean Hannity, a prominent host on Fox News, highlighted the situation during his show on Tuesday. Over footage of the protests, he declared:
“"This is, sadly I argue, by design – an attempt by the left to destroy the free world, western civilization, if you will. This is a preview of coming attractions here in America."
Similarly, Laura Ingraham featured Jamie Metzl, a self-described "technology and healthcare futurist," who warned that supporting Democratic Socialists in the U.S. would lead to similar chaos.
