An Indian citizen was among 12 people killed in the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine, as confirmed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday. The attacks involved drones and ballistic missiles that struck several cities across the eastern European nation, damaging residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.

Casualties and Injuries

According to sources from the Indian diaspora community in Kyiv, the deceased has been identified as Sudarshan Bhabhilala, a 40-year-old from Gujarat. He succumbed to a severe head injury sustained during the Russian attack. Another individual, Ganesh Kalleda, a 35-year-old from Telangana, was injured and is currently receiving treatment for bleeding in his leg; he is reported to be in stable condition.

Ongoing Attacks

Since Monday evening, guided aerial bomb and drone strikes have continued against Odesa city and the surrounding region, leaving thousands of families without electricity. President Zelenskyy stated, "Overall, 12 people were killed, among them an Indian citizen. My condolences to everyone who has lost family and loved ones."
