After Adam Brody called out the ‘death and misery’ in Palestine, the creator of the Netflix hit Nobody Wants This, Erin Foster, expressed her disagreement with his stance on the issue amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza war.
Erin Foster's Response
In an interview with the Not Skinny Not Fat podcast, Foster stated, "Everyone is entitled to a different opinion." She acknowledged the complexity of the situation, saying, "You know, it’s complicated." Foster, who also stars in the new season, emphasized that discussions on set mirror those at dinner tables worldwide, where differing opinions are common.
“"While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that’s OK," Foster added.
About Nobody Wants This
Nobody Wants This returns for its third season this week, featuring the unexpected love story between agnostic podcast host Joanne Williams (played by Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah Roklov (Brody). The series draws inspiration from Foster’s own journey, as she converted to Judaism after meeting her husband.
Foster expressed her commitment to representing Jewish experiences in her work:
“"As the creator of the show, all I can say is that I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel. The show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism. That is why I made this show. It’s because of how beautiful of an experience I’ve had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person."
