Nineteen people have been injured in a minibus accident at the loading platform of the Eurotunnel near Calais. The incident occurred on Thursday evening while the minibus was transporting lorry drivers heading to board a shuttle train service through the tunnel.

According to the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, five individuals sustained serious injuries, although no fatalities have been reported and no one’s life is considered to be in danger. Emergency services were promptly deployed to the scene to assist those affected.
“"An accident involving a minibus carrying Heavy Goods Vehicle drivers, headed to board a LeShuttle train, occurred this evening at the loading platform of the Eurotunnel site," stated the prefecture.
