The death toll from the devastating flash floods in Nepal has risen to 1,252 as of Thursday, with more bodies being recovered from the affected areas. Thousands remain missing after more than a week of the disaster, according to police reports.
Recovery Efforts
Data released by Nepal Police indicates that:
- 355 bodies were recovered from Chitawan district.
- 218 from Nawalparasi East.
- 208 from Nawalparasi West, including 18 recovered from India and handed over to Nawalparasi West.
- 177 from Nuwakot.
- 127 from Rasuwa district.
- 69 from Gorkha.
- 60 from Dhading.
- 38 from Tahanu.
