Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is also a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, is aligning himself with the Make America Healthy Again (Maha) movement by launching an inquiry into pediatricians who administer vaccines. This investigation could further limit access to vaccines amid rising outbreaks of preventable diseases.

Investigation Announcement

In January, Paxton announced he would investigate an alleged conspiracy involving pediatricians, vaccine manufacturers, and insurance companies. At least one Texas pediatrician has reported being under investigation as a result of this inquiry. Paxton's actions echo a broader campaign against vaccines led by figures such as Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Allegations of Collusion

Paxton claims that there is a sweeping collusion that "illegally incentivized" doctors to administer vaccines, alleging that the pharmaceutical and insurance industries are attempting to "bribe" medical providers. In August, he also launched an investigation into the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), accusing them of potentially recommending vaccines for financial gain. This accusation references a lawsuit the AAP filed earlier this year to halt significant changes to the childhood immunization schedule.
