A father from Essex has been fined 3,000 euro (£2,500) after his two-year-old son fell to his death at a five-star hotel in Cyprus. The tragic incident occurred on 12 July, the first day of the family's holiday at the King Evelthon Beach Hotel and Resort in Chlorakas.

Incident Details

Joshua Foster, 37, admitted to causing death through a reckless, rash, or dangerous act. The Paphos District Court heard that he believed the window was closed when he placed his son on the sill to show him the view of a nearby waterpark. Unfortunately, he "lost control" of the child, who fell nearly 40ft (12.1m) from the fourth floor.
