India's largest IT services company, TCS, believes that the United States is unlikely to target tech companies based on their domicile. This perspective comes in light of recent actions, such as the suspension of a green card application program, which TCS chief executive and managing director K Krithivasan attributes to local sensitivities surrounding job creation.

Key Insights from TCS

In an interview at the company's corporate headquarters, Krithivasan stated:

“

"I do not think the governments will really look at it from a domicile perspective. I think what the governments have been looking at is from an employment perspective."

He emphasized that the sensitivities around local job creation may be influencing government actions against companies, including TCS. However, he reassured that the recent decision has no material impact on the company.

Green Card Applications

TCS has been sending staff to the US as per client demands and applied for only about 10 green cards last year. The overall H1-B visa applications were less than 300, with many applicants already residing in the US. This indicates that there were no new employees sent from India.
