Dawn Myers, an entrepreneur with a passion for textured hair care, is revolutionizing the way people style and care for curly hair with her company, Richualist. After years of struggling with the tedious process of wash days, Myers was inspired to create a solution that addresses the unique needs of textured hair.

The Inspiration Behind Richualist

Myers recalls watching an episode of Shark Tank about eight years ago, which sparked her interest in developing hair tools specifically for curly hair. She noted that traditional tools like blow dryers and curling irons often do not cater to the needs of textured hair, leading to lengthy wash days that can take over an hour.

“

"If you think back to slavery, we were mandated to cover our hair. That’s where do-rags come from. You had to cover your hair because our hair was seen as ugly and unkempt and unacceptable," Myers explained.

Recognizing a gap in the beauty hardware market, Myers sketched out her business idea and created a prototype of her product, Mint, which simplifies the hair care process by detangling, conditioning, and styling in one step.

The Game-Changing Product

The Mint tool utilizes refillable product pods and features warming technology to gently heat the product before application. Myers claims that it reduces styling time to just seven to ten minutes, significantly easing the burden of wash days.
