A student has alleged she was drugged and gang-raped inside the Chi Phi frat house at Cornell University. The university's president, Michael Kotlikoff, stated that the school "must do better" following these serious allegations.

Allegations and Response

In an eight-minute video statement released on Saturday evening, Kotlikoff described the claims made by the woman, identified only as Jane Doe, as "deeply disturbing." The incident has raised significant concerns regarding the campus culture surrounding drug and alcohol use, as well as the investigation process.

Jane Doe, a 20-year-old student at the university, reported that on October 19, 2024, she was assaulted by seven men from the Chi Phi fraternity. She claims that the incident involved alcohol and the drug ketamine and that she reported the assault to Cornell University police two weeks later. However, no charges were filed following the investigation.

Last month, Jane Doe filed a civil lawsuit against the Ivy League institution, alleging that Cornell failed to protect her and did not adequately punish those involved in the assault.
