Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata and his son Neville Tata have filed caveats in city courts regarding the ongoing dispute involving Venu Srinivasan and Vijay Singh. The caveats, submitted to the Bombay High Court and the Mumbai City Civil Court, ensure that they will be heard before any orders are passed.
Both Noel and Neville filed their caveats on October 7, according to official records. The complaints against them, filed by Srinivasan and Singh with the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner, allege governance lapses and irregularities at some of the Tata Trusts.
Details of the Caveats
The caveat in the Bombay High Court lists Noel as the caveator, with Srinivasan named as the caveatee. Vijay Singh has been included as an additional party caveatee, along with lawyer Darius Khambata and Tata group veteran Bhaskar Bhat. In the Mumbai City Civil Court, Noel is the caveator, while Neville is designated as caveator-1, and Srinivasan is again the caveatee. Singh, Khambata, and Bhat are also named as extra party caveatees in this filing.
