Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio is set to revolutionize the computing landscape in India by launching its cloud PC service, JioPC, to all internet users. This initiative aims to convert aging computers into AI-ready machines without the need for hardware upgrades.

Expansion of JioPC Service

On Wednesday, Reliance Jio expanded its JioPC service, which was initially launched in July 2025, beyond its own broadband subscribers. The service is now available as a stand-alone subscription for users with any internet connection, regardless of their telecom or broadband provider.

JioPC streams a virtual PC from Jio’s cloud to existing computers, offering plans that include:

  • Up to eight virtual CPUs
  • 16GB of RAM
  • 1TB of storage

According to Jio, even computers as old as eight years can access the computing power necessary for modern AI applications without requiring users to replace their machines or install new hardware.

Pricing Plans

The pricing for JioPC starts at ₹1,000 (approximately $11) for a two-month subscription. A 12-month subscription is available for:

  • ₹4,000 (around $42) for 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage
  • ₹5,000 (about $53) for 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage

Market Context

As of 2025, India had over 65 million PCs in use, including approximately 34 million consumer and 31 million commercial machines, according to estimates from IDC. The installed base is expected to approach 69 million by the end of 2026.
