Pakistan's cybercrime agency has arrested Faheem Akram, a man accused of orchestrating a counterfeit operation that led to $126 million (£94 million) in losses for the US Postal Service. The arrest took place as part of an ongoing investigation into a fraudulent website that sold fake stamps to customers in the United States since 2023.

Background of the Case

Faheem Akram, a 33-year-old from Khanewal, Pakistan, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Florida last month. He is accused of selling over five million counterfeit shipping labels to thousands of US customers over the years through his website, LabelsBank.com. The website has since been shut down by authorities.

Earlier this month, the US Postal Inspection Service announced a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to Akram's arrest. According to the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida, Akram sold counterfeit US postage at a fixed rate, regardless of the package's weight, size, or destination.
