Norway is contemplating a ban on smart glasses and other camera-enabled wearable headsets as it seeks to regulate this controversial technology amid growing privacy concerns. The country’s digital minister, Karianne Tung, stated that the government is looking to regulate the use of these devices, which include products made by Meta and Snap.

These wearables, equipped with cameras and internet connectivity, may soon incorporate facial recognition technology. This development has raised alarms among civil liberties advocates, who argue that such devices intrude on individuals' privacy. The backlash has led to some referring to these gadgets as "pervert glasses."
