Natco Pharma Ltd announced on Monday that it will increase its investment in the US-based biotechnology firm eGenesis Inc to $16.70 million (approximately ₹139 crore), up from the previously disclosed amount of $14 million.

Investment Breakdown

Under the revised investment structure:

  • Natco Pharma (Canada) Inc will invest $13.70 million.
  • Natco Pharma USA LLC will contribute $3 million.

This transaction involves cash consideration for purchasing convertible promissory notes with an interest rate of 8 percent compounded annually. Notably, no additional shares will be acquired at the time of completion, which is expected by October 31.
