Feeld, a UK-based dating app catering to non-monogamous, queer, and kinky users, has reported a significant sales increase, leading to its founders receiving their largest-ever dividend. The platform, which describes itself as a space for the curious, saw revenues rise by 24% to £64 million, driven by a surge in interest from users seeking alternative relationships.

Strong Financial Growth

Pre-tax profits also increased from £9.3 million to £11.4 million. The company's shareholders, including founders Ana Kirova and Dimo Trifonov, shared a dividend of £3.8 million. Kirova and Trifonov initially launched the business under the name 3nder, focusing on couples and singles interested in threesomes. However, they rebranded to Feeld after a lawsuit from Tinder.

Despite larger competitors like Match Group, which owns Tinder, Hinge, and OK Cupid, reporting a 5% decline in user numbers, Feeld has thrived. Match Group's decline has been attributed to user fatigue with dating apps, while Feeld has attracted users from more traditional platforms.

Changing User Demographics

Feeld's president, Kyle Brennan, noted that the influx of users with more conventional sensibilities reflects a broader shift in societal attitudes towards connection. "These numbers speak to something bigger than the growth of our business," Brennan stated. "They reflect a broader shift in how people are thinking about connection, with greater openness, curiosity, and agency to do things differently."
