Adolf Hitler's Alpine mountain retreat, known as the Eagle's Nest, was engulfed in flames on Friday night. Police arrested a 33-year-old male suspect in connection with the incident.
Background
The residence, called the Kehlsteinhaus, is located above the town of Berchtesgaden. It served as one of several buildings used by the Nazi dictator and his entourage during World War Two. The area was also utilized as a backdrop for propaganda films that portrayed Hitler as a lover of animals and nature.
