Deloitte's Economic Outlook has projected that India's economy will grow by 7.1-7.3% in the fiscal year 2026-27 and 6.6-7.0% in 2027-28. This growth is attributed to a sustained revival in private investment, which is expected to provide an additional source of demand.
Economic Context
On October 16, 2026, Deloitte India highlighted that the Indian economy is poised for growth, driven by resilient household spending and a robust push in public infrastructure investment. Rumki Majumdar, an economist at Deloitte India, noted that businesses are now experiencing better connectivity, healthier balance sheets, and higher capacity utilization, which strengthens the case for expansion.
“"The question is whether these conditions will encourage private investment to play a larger role in boosting growth in the coming years. Recent indicators offer grounds for optimism," said Majumdar.
