Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced on Tuesday that the ministry is actively engaging with airlines and oil marketing companies regarding the rising prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), which have been significantly impacted by the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
Impact of Rising ATF Prices
The increase in ATF prices is creating challenges for airlines, as fuel costs constitute approximately 40% of their operational expenses. Naidu emphasized the importance of addressing how the crisis in West Asia is contributing to the surge in ATF prices. He stated,
“"One of the most important things is how the West Asia crisis is putting a big burden on ATF prices. We are in discussions with airlines and OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies)."
