Women’s health company Evvy announced on Tuesday that it has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by Catalio Capital Management. Founded in 2021 by Priyanka Jain, Laine Bruzek, and Pita Navarro, Evvy is recognized for its at-home CLIA-certified and CLEP-certified mNGS test, which analyzes vaginal microbes using a single swab.

How It Works

Users send their swab samples to Evvy’s lab, where the results are analyzed using proprietary mNGS sequencing. The findings are then reviewed by clinicians registered on Evvy’s platform and made available in the patient’s health portal. Priyanka Jain, CEO and co-founder, explained:

"When a patient receives their results, they are presented alongside a diagnosis, clinical interpretation, and a clear path of next steps, including personalized prescription care when relevant."

Since its inception, Evvy has served over 100,000 patients across the United States and collaborates with 3,000 practitioners. Jain noted that the company has generated 15 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, identified novel BV subtypes, and discovered hundreds of previously uncatalogued vaginal microbiome genomes.

The Vision

Evvy's mission extends beyond treating patients; it aims to build a comprehensive dataset that connects microbiome biology, symptoms, interventions, and health outcomes. Jain stated:
