Sigenergy, a Chinese energy storage systems maker, plans to invest an initial $250 million in India to establish manufacturing facilities for inverters and battery energy storage systems. This announcement was made by a senior company executive, Rahul Morde, head of sales for Sigenergy India, during the Renewable Energy India Expo.
Manufacturing Plans
The company, which began operations in India earlier this year, will first construct an inverter manufacturing plant. This facility is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2027. Morde indicated that Sigenergy is currently exploring potential locations for the factory.
Following the inverter plant, Sigenergy will establish a battery energy storage systems factory, which is anticipated to come online six to eight months after the inverter facility.
