Uber and OpenAI announced an expansion of their partnership on Thursday, revealing that its entire global workforce of approximately 30,000 employees will now utilize ChatGPT Work. This enterprise-focused AI agent was introduced in July to assist corporate teams with various workflows.
Background of the Initiative
Initially, Uber piloted ChatGPT Work with 1,000 employees earlier this year, involving workers from various departments such as finance, operations, and product. Notably, 80% of the early adopters were non-engineers. According to Sumanth Sukumar, Uber’s VP of engineering, the tool was used for a wide range of tasks:
- Analyzing complex data to identify trends and develop recommendations.
- Localizing training materials for different markets and languages.
- Building personalized interactive dashboards to manage daily work.
